5 Motivational Youtube Video Clips: A Global Workout

Youtube can sometimes be a mess of junky advertisements for weight lifting supplements or the latest thighmaster. But I’ve spent some time digging through rubble to find these gems. Next time you don’t feel like working out just play one of these video clips.

Thor’s Daughter – Iceland

Annie Thorrisdottir is from Iceland. She earned the title of ‘fittest woman in the world’ by winning the 2012 crossfit competition. Her name literally means ‘Thor’s Daughter’. She is a picture of strength, and her form is not too shabby either.

Parkour equals Precision: London

Parkour is a physical artform that blends elements of ninjitsu, acrobatics, climbing, stunt work, and big portion of crazy. And it would be utterly deadly if wasn’t for the methodical mindset that its practitioners adopt. Think of these people as physical scientists.

If you are interested in learning more about this sport, I’d recommend this parkour blog complete with a FAQ for Parents!

Capoeistas: Brazil

If you haven’t heard of Capoeira it is a Brazilian martial art/dance form. It was invented by slaves who weren’t allowed to practice fighting skills. So they disguised their practice as type of dancing game. The beauty of these movements will leave a lasting impression.

If you live in the twin cities area and interested in trying out Capoeira check out ABCapoeira.

The Original Aerobics: South Africa

I have no doubt that dance has always played a role in keeping us healthy and fit. Sometimes I wish we made our own music as we moved like this troup. Cardio, strength, flexibility and endurance are all being built here, but no one is paying attention to any of that, they are dancing!

Hey…It looks like there is some real estate available on this blog post! The first person to share their workout-inspiring motivational youtube video clips with me gets this spot! To qualify it must be unique, upbeat, and truly of Global proportions (hint, hint). I’d be happy to include a link to your profile on facebook or your website for your trouble!

I SO need to get motivated…the only thing I’ve really loved thus far is yoga and I need to get back in the swing of things!

I hope these vids helped! And if Yoga is what you love to do then do that! I think a lot of people get hung up on finding the perfect way to be physical. No need! It is much more important to just do something .
